Hi Karnak! Thanks for posting your feedback, it really does mean a lot to me as it shows that people are interested in my game. Really glad your excited! 😉 1. This is something I am still working on, the generic names you were seeing was the NPC names. That is an issue in itself if you were confused as the user interface is still very WIP and needs more work. Your character's currently have randomly generated names, but in the future I'll add the ability to name your own characters. 2. There are different backstories for each "mercenary" you hire, IE farmers, knights, outlaws, exiles. In the future I hope to add unique perks to each type of "profession". In terms of classes, similar to BB it is freeform with the weapon that you equip more or less determining your class. 3. Lots more abilities to come, haven't really scratched the surface. 4. This is something other players have told me as well, from customization to portraits. Customization is pretty tricky for one person as it is a lot of work, but I am still looking into this. I can't say for sure right now, but having something like a barber to change hair/facial hair wouldn't be as hard to having a fully fledged character customization system. BB more or less just had a barber in the game. 5. All feedback is important to me and the nicknames is a good suggestion, I also liked that feature too. Makes you feel more attached! 6. Permadeath is definitely in 😉 Once again thanks a lot for your feedback, the demo will be out soon so I hope you'll have a look at it and give me more feedback. Just keep in mind it is still very early so some things like the user interface are not perfect yet. Also to answer your other question before about combat speed: Actions are queued and there is a player and enemy phase. So in your phase you have the time to plan out all the actions you want to do in the phase, but the twist is that your actions are not played out immediately, they are played out at the end of your phase so you need to plan ahead. I will be very interested in what players think of this combat system. Cheers, Kevin.

Combat system reminds me somehow of combat mission in lower scale. I will be happy to test your demo

Excellent feedback Karnak, thanks a lot for taking the time to play and glad you enjoyed it! 1. When a person gets decapitated, it actually reduces the morale of all combatants on the same side by -10. But that is a good point, in the future there won't always be "clean hits" IE the head flying off, I may put in some variations. 2. The overall plan is to have an overworld map, so you definiately won't be stuck in the castle forever 😋 3. There will be all sorts of armor in Dead Monarchy, not just European armor, but eastern armor as well. There will also be "barbarian/viking" inspired armor, so you can definitely make your wildman. There will be an ability with the greataxe, that does more damage the less armor you wear. Thank you very much for trying out the demo, I really need all the feedback I can get. I will be updating this demo a lot more with new features, so more to come 😉

Sounds great. I wished you had a team to create this game because now i want to see more and more ;-)
Another idea but i dont think its possible because i never saw it. Charakters with different body statures that affect battles. Realy big guy fights against a small weasel... little one needs morale check or ran away or he has high enough morale that makes him stone cold. Fat guy..slow..low.. stamina but strong. And so on. There would be very many posibilitys of that kind of characters. More stratagy ways ans more to think when you hire fighters.
Oh and will there be perma wounds like loosing an eye (again like BB).

Glad you want to see more! One day I hope to expand, but that will have to wait 😋 The character system that I am using now does have the ability to create skinny/fat/muscle body types, but the problem comes in then having to create multiple variations of the armor. Those are very good ideas and would definitely give more options for recruitment. In the future, there will already be different starting buffs for characters, like IE "Fat - less stamina, more stamina", but I don't know if it will be visually displayed IE having a fat character have the fat buff/debuff. But once again, it is a good suggestion and I have added it back to my list. It possible, but something I'd look in later down the line. Whenever you have ideas, feel free to post them, it helps keep the forum alive 😉
